Fixed-price chauffeured taxi from London Luton Airport (LTN) to any Central London address. 30 miles, 45–90 minutes door-to-door. Meet-and-greet in the arrivals hall with a name board — and no DART shuttle, no rail interchange, no bus link. Mercedes E-Class executive, MPV 6-seater, 8-seater minibus. Flight tracked automatically, including Luton’s early departures and late arrivals. ULEZ and Congestion Charge included. No surge, no meter, no surcharges. From £80 all-inclusive. TfL licensed since 2000. 24/7.
London Luton (LTN) is the UK’s fifth-busiest airport, handling around 16–17 million passengers a year from a single terminal in Bedfordshire, 30 miles north of central London just off the M1. It is a major base for easyJet and Wizz Air, alongside Ryanair, Jet2 and a range of European and charter operators. Luton is also one of the UK’s most important business-aviation airports, with a substantial private jet operation running from its own dedicated terminals.
The Luton to Central London transfer has one characteristic that sets it apart from every other London airport route: Luton’s railway station is not at the terminal. Passengers using the train arrive at Luton Airport Parkway and then transfer to the terminal on the DART automated people-mover — a separate ticketed leg with luggage, on top of the rail journey itself. Anyone who has done it with two suitcases and a tired child understands immediately why a door-to-door car is the popular choice here. Our transfer eliminates that entire interchange.
Passengers on this route are mostly leisure travellers heading to hotels across Central London, families returning from European package holidays, groups travelling together, business travellers on short-haul, and private-aviation passengers connecting from Luton’s business terminals. Like Stansted, Luton runs a long operating day with early departure banks and late-evening arrivals, so a large share of our bookings sit outside normal hours.
Get London Transfer runs fixed-price chauffeur transfers from Luton with drivers who work the M1 corridor daily. The motorway leg is short and usually straightforward; the variability is at the London end, where the approach through Brent Cross, Hampstead or the A5 behaves very differently at 08:00 than at 22:00. Everything sits inside the quoted price, including the Congestion Charge and ULEZ.
30 miles Luton LTN to Central London via M1 south → A406 North Circular or A5/A41 into town. The shortest of our London airport routes by mileage — Luton is closer to the centre than Gatwick or Stansted.
45–60 minutes light traffic — most late arrivals and early departures. 60–90 minutes normal daytime traffic. 90–115 minutes peak, weekday 07:00–09:30 and 16:00–19:00, when the M1 southbound approach and the North Circular are the constraints.
£80 Mercedes E-Class (up to 4 passengers) — our lowest London airport fare. Options: £100 MPV 6-seater, £120 minibus 8-seater, £150 S-Class VIP. Congestion Charge and ULEZ included.
24/7, 365 days a year including Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year. No night surcharge and no holiday surcharge — relevant at an airport with 06:00 departure banks and post-23:00 arrivals.
Book online at getlondontransfer.com/booking or call 020 8888 9988. Give us your airline, flight number and the exact Central London address. Luton has one main passenger terminal, so there is no terminal to specify — but if you are arriving on a private flight through one of the business-aviation terminals, tell us and we will meet you there instead. Confirmation SMS with fixed price and driver details arrives within 5 minutes.
Dispatch monitors your inbound flight on live ATC data — actual departure, en-route delays, actual landing and taxi-to-stand. Luton’s evening short-haul arrivals slip frequently, and we plan for it. The driver is dispatched against your real landing time rather than the schedule, and the price does not change.
Disembark → immigration → baggage reclaim → arrivals hall. Your driver waits in the public arrivals area with a name board showing your surname; the exact spot is confirmed in your booking SMS. Luton clears quickly on most short-haul arrivals, particularly for cabin-baggage-only passengers. Driver takes the luggage and walks you to the pre-booked pickup area — not the DART, not the rail station, not the public rank.
Vehicle leaves the airport via the airport access road onto the M1 southbound at J10. Climate control, USB-A/USB-C/Lightning charging, complimentary water. On a late arrival most passengers sleep this leg; the driver will not make conversation unless you want it.
Luton → M1 south past St Albans and Watford (20–30 min, usually free-flowing outside peak) → A406 North Circular or the A5/A41 corridor depending on destination (10–20 min) → inner London streets to your address (15–55 min, the most variable part). Camden, King’s Cross, Euston, Marylebone and the northern West End come in directly and quickly. The City, Canary Wharf and destinations south of the river take longer. If the M1 southbound or the North Circular is congested the driver may use the A1 or A5 instead — on a fixed price, a longer route never costs you more.
Driver delivers to your door — hotel entrance, residential address, office reception or station forecourt — and unloads the luggage. Where a street is pedestrianised or on a red route with no stopping, the driver stops at the nearest legal point and carries the bags the short remaining distance.

Luton’s railway station is not at the airport. This is the single most important practical fact about travelling to and from Luton, and the one that catches out the most first-time passengers. Trains from London St Pancras, Farringdon, City Thameslink and Blackfriars run to Luton Airport Parkway, which is a separate station roughly a mile and a half from the terminal. From there you transfer to the DART, an automated people-mover, for the final leg into the airport building.
What that means in practice. A rail journey to Luton is: get to a Thameslink station in London with your luggage → train to Luton Airport Parkway → carry luggage off the train and up to the DART platform → separate DART leg → arrive at the terminal. Coming the other way, you do all of it in reverse at the end of a flight. It is a perfectly good system when you are travelling alone with a cabin bag. It is a genuinely tiring sequence with two hold suitcases, a pushchair and children at 23:00.
The DART is an additional ticketed leg. It is not included in a standard rail fare unless you buy a through ticket, so the headline train price is rarely the full price. Once you add the DART for each person in your party, the gap between rail and a single fixed-price car narrows sharply — and for a family of four it usually closes completely.
Our transfer removes the whole sequence. The driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name board, takes your luggage, and walks you to the car in the pre-booked pickup area. One vehicle, one leg, delivered to your actual door in Central London. No Parkway, no DART, no platform changes, no separate tickets, and no working out which of three ticket types you should have bought.
Camden, King’s Cross, Euston and Bloomsbury. The natural Luton destinations. Coming down the M1 from the north, these are reached directly and are usually the quickest addresses on the route. St Pancras is the key one for Eurostar connections, and King’s Cross and Euston for onward mainline services.
Marylebone, Fitzrovia and the northern West End. Also on the direct approach and comfortably reached. Regent’s Park, Baker Street and the Marylebone hotel district are all straightforward from Luton.
Soho, Covent Garden and Mayfair. A little further into the centre but still well within the normal journey-time range. Some West End streets are pedestrianised or restricted for loading at certain hours, in which case the driver stops at the nearest legal point and carries the bags in.
The City, Shoreditch and Islington. Reached via the A1 or the eastern approach. Islington and Angel are quick; the City and Shoreditch take a little longer at peak.
Kensington, Chelsea, Victoria and south of the river. These require a full cross-town leg from the north and sit at the upper end of the journey-time range, particularly during weekday peaks. Still a single fixed price and still one vehicle door to door — but build in the extra time.
Beyond Central London. Luton also sits well for St Albans, Watford, Milton Keynes, Hemel Hempstead and the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire commuter towns, as well as Cambridge via the A505. Ask dispatch for a fixed price on any of these.
Thameslink rail plus DART. Fast on paper — St Pancras to Luton Airport Parkway can be under 25 minutes on a fast service — but the real journey includes getting to a Thameslink station with your luggage, the DART leg, and the walk at both ends. Realistically 60–90 minutes door to door, and the fare is rail plus DART per person. For one traveller with a cabin bag starting near St Pancras or Farringdon, it is a good option and we will say so. For a family with hold luggage it is slower, more expensive in total, and considerably more effort than a single car.
Coach services. National Express and Green Line run to Victoria and other London points around the clock, and are the cheapest way to travel. They are also the slowest — typically 75–120 minutes depending on traffic and route — with fixed stops rather than your destination, and limited luggage assistance. Sensible for solo budget travel; poor for groups, families and late-night arrivals.
Rideshare apps. Luton’s arrival pattern of clustered short-haul flights, often late in the evening, is exactly what triggers surge pricing — and you find out the multiplier at the moment you need the car. No meet-and-greet in arrivals, no guaranteed flight tracking, and a walk to a designated pickup zone. Our price is agreed at booking and does not move.
Our fixed-price transfer. £80 whether you land at 06:00, at midday or at 00:30. Meet-and-greet in arrivals with a name board, luggage handled, Congestion Charge and ULEZ included, driver’s direct mobile number sent in advance, and delivery to your actual door — with no Parkway, no DART and no separate tickets anywhere in the process.
25 years TfL licensed. Get London Transfer has held a Transport for London Private Hire Operator licence continuously since 2000 — the UK regulatory standard for private hire in London. We are not a rideshare aggregator and not an unlicensed operator.
No DART, no Parkway, no interchange. The driver meets you in the arrivals hall and walks you to the car. On a route where every rail alternative involves a separate people-mover leg with your luggage, this is the difference that passengers notice most.
Our lowest London airport fare. At £80 in the E-Class, Luton is the cheapest of our London airport transfers — Luton is closer to the centre than Gatwick or Stansted, and the price reflects it.
No night rate. Luton runs 06:00 departure banks and post-23:00 arrivals, so a large share of these journeys sit outside normal hours. £80 at 04:00 is the same £80 as at 14:00. Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year are charged at the standard rate too.
Congestion Charge and ULEZ inside the price. Both apply to nearly every Central London destination and both are included in the quoted fare. Nothing is added at the end of the journey.
UK-based dispatch, 24/7. 020 8888 9988 reaches a UK controller at any hour, not an overseas call centre. Your driver’s direct mobile number is sent by SMS two hours before pickup so you can reach them without going through us at all.
