For Harwell, Milton Park and the Oxford Science Park the driver stays on the M4 and turns north on the A34 instead, which avoids the city entirely. If the M40 or ring road is stalled, the A40/A420 alternatives are available — you are on a fixed price, so a longer route never costs more.

The colleges. We serve all 39 colleges and the permanent private halls. Access varies sharply. Colleges in the historic centre — Christ Church, Balliol, Trinity, Exeter, Jesus, Lincoln, Brasenose, Magdalen, New College, Merton — sit within or behind bus-gated and pedestrianised streets, so the drop is normally the nearest legal point with a short walk to the lodge, luggage carried to that point. Colleges further out — St Anne’s, Somerville, Lady Margaret Hall, Wolfson, St Hugh’s, Green Templeton, St Catherine’s — generally have proper vehicle entrances you can be delivered to directly. Many colleges also run annexes and graduate accommodation well away from the main site; give us the actual address rather than just the college name and we will take you to the right door.
Hospitals. The John Radcliffe in Headington is the main teaching hospital, alongside the Churchill Hospital and the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre on the same eastern side of the city. All three are reached from the M40/A40 and the eastern ring road without crossing the centre. Tell us the department or entrance at booking and we drop there rather than at a main gate. For patients travelling for treatment, let dispatch know and we will allocate a vehicle with an easier step-in height and allow unhurried time at both ends.
Science and business campuses. The Oxford Science Park sits at Littlemore in the south of the city; Begbroke Science Park is north on the A44. Further south along the A34 are the Harwell Campus (home to the Diamond Light Source, the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and the UK’s space cluster) and Milton Park at Didcot. Harwell and Milton Park are usually faster from Heathrow than central Oxford, because the M4/A34 approach bypasses the city completely. Give us the building or organisation name and the driver takes you to the correct entrance on what are large, multi-building sites.
Bicester Village, Blenheim and the Cotswolds. Bicester Village is 12 miles north of Oxford at M40 J9 and is one of the most requested onward destinations on this route. Blenheim Palace at Woodstock and the southern Cotswold villages are frequently combined with an Oxford arrival. These can be booked as part of the same journey or as a separate leg — ask dispatch for a fixed price on the combination.
Stations and city addresses. Oxford Station, Oxford Parkway, hotels, and private addresses across Jericho, Summertown, Headington, Cowley and East Oxford. Many of these are permit-only residential streets; the driver gets as close as is legal and safe.
Oxford terms are short and the arrivals are concentrated. Michaelmas begins in early October, Hilary in mid-January, and Trinity in late April, with each term running only eight weeks. That compression means arrival and departure demand spikes hard into a few days rather than spreading across a month, and larger vehicles are the first to go.
Freshers’ week and matriculation (early October) is the busiest period of the year on this route. Most arriving students have a full year’s luggage and most are accompanied by family. Book 2–3 weeks ahead and book the MPV rather than the E-Class — the saloon takes two large cases and no more.
End of term (early December, mid-March, mid-June) reverses the flow, with a high proportion of very early morning pickups from Oxford to catch long-haul departures. A 04:30 pickup from a college lodge is routine in these weeks and is charged at the same fixed price as any other time of day.
